Anna Dickinson

Founder/Owner/Lead Planner/Designer

Hey there. My name is Anna Dickinson and I am the owner, founder and lead designer here at Perception. I am a Little Rock native, born and raised right here in Central Arkansas. After graduating from Little Rock Central High School, I attended California State University Northridge where I pursued my degrees in 3-D design and fine arts. I missed “home” so much that I came back to Arkansas and studied graphic design and ceramic studies at UCA. I have a very supportive husband who I have been with for over 12 years, and together we have two amazing little girls and two adorable French Bulldogs that are our family mascot.

Being in the design world for over 10 years, I am surrounded by some of the best people in the business. Through my first company, White Goat, I was able to learn the ins and outs of the design industry all while create a solid background in business. Being the owner, operator, and founder of White Goat gave me the knowledge to create accurate budgets, to-do lists, and timelines for all my clients.

Our mission statement is to empower couples and clients with knowledge, diverse resources, and creative inspiration for hosting a quality event that is uniquely unexpected. The event is about you, and your truth is your own perception. Everything we do at Perception we do whole heartedly and intentionally. Enough about me, I cannot wait to hear all about you!

I am thrilled to be a part Perception by Anna, assisting with weddings and events!  I find great joy in taking care of the needs of others, especially on an important day, and hope to get to serve you in the future!  I am the owner of KLF & Company, a fundraising and event management company, and have almost 20 years of experience in the industry.  Clients have included nonprofits, private sector businesses and families, as well as political candidates/organizations at the local, state, and national level.

Early in my career, I spent almost five years in Washington, DC where I worked for Advantage, Inc. as an Account Executive providing fundraising and event management services for high profile political clientele.  I also spent two years as an Associate Director at Orr Associates, Inc., serving nonprofit organizations by coordinating production and fundraising efforts for major events.

Originally from east Tennessee (go Vols!), I have a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in French from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as well as a M.A. in Political Management with a concentration in fundraising from The George Washington University. I also have completed the Arkansas Association of Fundraising Professionals’ certificate program and was proud to be named to Arkansas Business’ “40 Under 40” in 2011.

While neither my husband Kevin Niehaus and I are native to Arkansas, I’ve lived here for the last 15 years and have fallen in love with the state and its people.  We love Little Rock and are glad to be raising our two little girls, Eliza Rose and Emmerson, here in this great city we now call home.

I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas where I serve as a dog mom to my “handsome man” Harley. I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in Family and Consumer Science and a minor in Art.

In my non-work life, travel is my number-one hobby. I enjoy experiencing new things and interacting with all kinds of people.

In my past and present work life, my ability to provide excellent customer service is a particular point of pride. I strive to solve problems and generate full satisfaction in all situations. I’ve always been drawn to tip-top organization and efficiency … coupled with beautiful aesthetics and design. How lucky am I? Perception by AD allows me to focus on those things I love and use the skills I’ve honed—every single day.

Ciao! I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Sydnie Carper, I’m a young, creative, “old soul,” and native Arkansan. My experience in wedding photography, modeling, styling, and event planning have led me to a passion of working creatively with clients to bring their dream event to life.

From a young age, I knew that design would be a part of my future. My mother would call me her “Little Event Planner” when I’d come to her with sheets of plans for my next birthday or holiday party. My attention to detail, while a huge part of my personality, heavily influences my planning, because I understand the importance of these seemingly little things & their true value to the bride/client. Planning is personal, so choosing the best planner for you is KEY. You should feel confident that your vision will be translated accurately, with fluidity and class.

Not only have I experienced the planning expertise of Perception as a team member, but I’ve also been blessed to witness it in the eyes of the recipient! My journey with Anna began in 2018, through a creative shoot I was asked to model in and continued into an introduction to the planning side of the wedding industry. I instantly fell in love with her and the way she did things, but never did I expect the opportunity to have my own wedding professionally planned. As if it was meant to be, I got engaged in December 2019 and planned to have my wedding once the pandemic worry had passed. My fiancé and I were becoming quite excited for a new phase of life together, but having a wedding in the midst of a global catastrophe seemed unimaginable. One day in March, Anna brought up the possibility of planning my wedding, and started with “So what day are we deciding on?”. Fear arose in me to respond, as my fiancé and I had not come even close to deciding a precise time for the big day. This was the beginning of a journey I wouldn’t have been able to appreciate or understand, the journey of planning your dream day. Being the personality I am, I initially resisted trusting a single person to achieve all the dreams and expectations I had set up for this critical point in my life, but as days went on the fear subsided. I started to realize how difficult, stressful, and absolutely not fun planning a wedding as a bride. Every day in the 3-month process I became more and more relieved I had an expert to help me. My husband and I got married on June 2nd, 2020, our 4th anniversary. The wedding was perfect. Anna had listened to all the little details and ideas I was overwhelmed with, and magically brought them to life in a day! Working with Anna now, having experienced the true art and expertise that is her profession, I realize more brides need someone to take the burden of creativity off their shoulders! I am eternally grateful for a perfect day being set up for me, and am so excited to assist in making YOUR perfect day come into existence!

Hello friends, my name is Evan Dowers, and as the tallest member and only man of the group, I’m always reaching for the stars, or things on high shelves. I grew up and went to school in North Little Rock before pursuing a degree in Music from Ouachita Baptist University. I moved back to North Little Rock and started on my journey to really find my passion. I am so lucky to have met Anna Dickinson, and now be able to help create the magic that is planning your wedding. I have an eye for unique, beautiful, and high-quality things, and have always loved the elegance and production of a wedding. I am so excited to have joined the Perception team, and have the chance to work under our tiny but fearless leader, Anna. Getting to work for a company like Perception has been an amazing experience because of the diversity within our group, clients, and the types of events we execute. We all bring a variety of experience to the company, but when we come together, what we are able to create is truly something outer worldly. I cannot imagine a more special opportunity than to be able to help two people dream up, plan and execute their special day, the right way.
